Love\'s Great Waves
At the end of a painting session I place the art on an easel across from my bed, ready to meditate in the morning and contemplate the images, colors and textures that I know contain messages for me and in turn for the viewer. I also receive the title.
I originally called this painting Eruption, so I began by asking which of the current dramatic local and world events did I need to understand better through the painting. The painting responded that it was not about the âeruptionsâ, but about how I perceived them and how they affected me emotionally.
For me, this work is about surrendering, accepting the world events and the local and international upheaval spots without getting caught up in the drama. The art is reminding me that everything is cyclical and that my engagement with drama is best undertaken from the heart-mind. It tells me that my actions must come from presence, alertness, and equanimity, and that when I act guided by the wisdom of the heart, I not only positively affect my life, I do the same for our shared world.
So I call it, Loveâs Great Waves.
I wonder what it may teach you!
